This looks like several other crashes I have reported upstream... 

Hopefully will see something from them soon.

Can you try the version from rawhide? 

yum --enablerepo=rawhide upgrade fontforge

This should pull in 3 packages and should work. If you would rather not do that, let me know and I would be happy to make you a f12 scratch build of that version.
