Description of problem:


When i boot Fedora 12 installation DVD, my system (an HP Compaq 6730s with Fedora 11) freezes and i get kernel panic:

DMAR hardware is malfunctioning

How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:

1. booting Fedora 12 DVD i386.

-OR-

1. Installing / Updating Fedora 12 (after doing the workaround)
2. Reboot
3. Start Fedora 12
  
Actual results:
Kernel panic at boot time.

Expected results:
Boot as normal.

Workaround:
Adding kernel argument:

intel_iommu=off

Additional info:

When i used fedora 11, the system was booting correctly.
