Description Perazim 2009-11-25 09:36:00 UTC
Description of problem: openvpn fails to start at boot. config was migrated from production f-11 system.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): openvpn-2.1-0.37.rc20.fc12.i686

How reproducible: Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot machine with openvpn enabled
2.
3.

Actual results: no openvpn, nothing in logs

Expected results:

Additional info:

Boot F-12
openvpn does not start. chkconfig --list openvpn shows 2,3,4,5 on
no entries from openvpn appear in messages or security logs
open service configuration
openvpn shows enabled and DEAD
click start for openvpn
shows running
normal entries appear in log

one can also start openvpn by /etc/init.d/openvpn start and this works.

It just won't start at bootup

Comment 1 Perazim 2009-11-28 15:24:50 UTC
Have now discovered that openvpn appears to be started before NetworkManager is started. Disabling NetworkManager and enabling network allows openvpn to start as expected. Someone needs to update the openvpn scripts so that openvpn may be used with NetworkManager.
