Description of problem:

System has root in volume group on raid1.  System hangs on boot "waiting forever".  From looking at init.log it appears that the volume groups are never activated.

        kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.6-145.fc12.i686.PAE ro root=UUID=d2322bfd-c38f-43d4-b824-3a9b0409545f crashkernel=128M@16M SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 KEYTABLE=us rdshell rdinfo rdinitdebug

/dev/mapper/rootvg-root on / type ext3 (rw)
