Description Ajay Ramaswamy 2009-12-02 16:10:50 UTC
Description of problem:
/boot/initramfs- is a generated file, but presto always pops up message

Setting up and reading Presto delta metadata

and goes on to download a 16M kernel rpm, can we tell presto to ignore the initramfs?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install F12 x86_64

happened to me too..
a kernel of 19 meg while having presto..

Comment 2 James 2010-01-05 15:53:10 UTC
Happened to me too and is why dont update (:

And I'd like presto to use rpms on the install dvd or from a cache directory as well.
For low bandwidth usage when installing rpms I need to
-disable on line repositories, install from the dvd
-reenable online repositories, update

If presto used cached rpms this might even solve the problem with changed files on the fs

still its not initramfs ,,but its got something to do with presto..

Comment 5 Jonathan Dieter 2010-01-08 13:35:55 UTC
This is a completely different problem. You need to file a bug against whichever package owns that file (run 'rpm -qf /usr/share/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg' to find out which it is.) That package needs to mark that file as either %config or %config(replace).

I just had yum successfully download and apply this kernel drpm. Is this issue resolved now or was I just lucky?

(24/96): kernel-2.6.32.9-67.fc12_2.6.32.9-70.fc12.x86_64.drpm

Comment 7 Bug Zapper 2010-11-04 04:35:42 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '12'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
