Description of problem: After I installed Fedora 12 I tried also runlevel 3 + startx and it worked all ok. Now I see that with Fedora 12 + latest updates (2009-12-08) if I boot to runlevel 3 (with nomodeset) X fails to start complaining that /dev/fb0 is missing. (/dev/fb exists and is of mode 644.) I'm not sure is this a udev or driver issue - I tried with the F12 release kernel and it didn't help so it seems clear that kernel is innocent. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 12 + latest updates (2009-12-08) How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot up with parameters "3 nomodeset" 2. Log in 3. startx Actual results: X fails to start Expected results: X startx Additional info: Please find X log and dmesg attached after a failed startx.
