Thanks for the debug information. According to the strace it looks like that banshee checks for some status of the ipod after it has ejected it. IMHO this looks like a race condition between two threads in banshee, especially because it does not happen on my system at all... I've opened a bug report upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=605074
This bug should be fixed in Banshee 1.8.0 (in F14) which no longer uses ipod-sharp but libgpod (so the race condition should be gone). Is there any way for you to test this?
