Description Hicham HAOUARI 2009-12-21 01:06:47 UTC
Description of problem:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
no build in rawhide yet

Additional info:
I need that version and up to build fosfor : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=549228

Comment 1 Hicham HAOUARI 2010-01-06 12:40:15 UTC
repoquery --all --whatrequires clutter

clutter-sharp-0:0-0.6.20090828.fc12.i686
clutter-doc-0:1.0.6-1.fc12.i686
clutter-devel-0:1.0.6-1.fc12.i686

The only package that could be affected is clutter-sharp, but then again :
repoquery --all --whatrequires clutter-sharp

clutter-sharp-devel-0:0-0.6.20090828.fc12.i686

So I don't think that updating to 1.1 stable version can do any harm

I looked at this yesterday. There's issues with gtk-doc in rawhide. I filed bug 552575 about it. It can be worked around by removing gtkdoc-fixxref from the makefile but I think a proper fix should be done. clutter should move to the development 1.1.4 release in rawhide anyway, but that also has this issue.

That query is wrong. There is at least mutter, nbtk and a good half dozen Moblin packages that depend on clutter. That said I don't believe that clutter 1.1.x breaks the 1.x api but rather just extends it. I'm not sure if there's a soname bump though which would require a recompile of everything which needs to be coordinated.

Comment 4 Peter Robinson 2010-01-07 00:13:50 UTC
clutter 1.0.8 built fine with the gtk-doc fix. I'll look at the impact of 1.1 tomorrow.

Comment 5 Peter Robinson 2010-01-07 00:28:25 UTC
Having just spoken to the mutter and gnome-shell maintainers clutter 1.1 currently badly breaks both mutter and by definition gnome-shell and moblin. This is planned to be fixed shortly but for the moment we need to stick with 1.0.x

Comment 6 Peter Robinson 2010-02-03 11:38:44 UTC
This is now just pending the fix of this bug upstream which will allow us to upgrade to git master of mutter.

clutter 1.1.6 is on its way to rawhide.
