RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Not sure. Dennis?

Comment 6 Dennis Gregorovic 2010-01-19 03:38:41 UTC
I believe that disc 1 for x86 and x86_64 with include the hybridiso flags needed. I've added Peter to the cc: list, who can add more technical information.

Comment 10 Michael Doyle 2010-06-29 02:00:24 UTC
Rudi, what was the change in the documentation?

Peter, since we're not shipping CDs now, will the hybrid ISO flags be set on the DVD?

Section 2.2.1. Making USB Media now describes making USB media with the boot.iso file, which as of RHEL6 is no longer shipped on the DVD itself. The text is based on what hdegoede provided in the Technical Note for Bug #518662

I believe this is all that's absolutely required here.

Comment 14 Dennis Gregorovic 2010-07-23 14:11:11 UTC
The boot.iso built for RHEL 6 will not be UEIF enabled. See
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=anaconda.git;a=commitdiff;h=823e1d49baa4aef0b420c526bbd813d0984c070e

Therefore, we'll need to make sure that the USB Media directions only mention the x86_64 DVD itself and not boot.iso

Comment 21 Ruediger Landmann 2010-08-21 08:25:00 UTC
I have incorporated the information from comments 16 and 17 and bug #518662 into section "2.3. Making Minimal Boot Media" -- available in build 0-88.

Comment 22 Michael Doyle 2010-08-23 07:14:03 UTC
Verified it is in Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-Installation_Guide-6-en-US-0-91.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 is now available and should resolve
the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed
with a resolution of CURRENTRELEASE. You may reopen this bug report if the
solution does not work for you.
