Description A.J. Bonnema 2009-12-22 03:21:51 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/updatedb "read" access on Documents and Settings.

Detailed Description:

SELinux denied access requested by updatedb. It is not expected that this access
is required by updatedb and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is
also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

Fixed in selinux-policy-3.6.32-59.fc12.noarch
yum update selinux-policy-targeted --enablerepo=updates-testing

Comment 2 Arthur Dent 2010-01-14 19:01:56 UTC
I have a similar issue (as posted in the SELinux mailing list in this thread: http://old.nabble.com/updatedb-%28locate_t%29-%22read%22-fusefs_t.-to27145096.html) except that in my case I am running F11.

I would therefore like to request that this fix also be applied to Fedora 11.

Thanks!
