Description Mohamed El Morabity 2009-12-31 19:04:05 UTC
Description of problem:
The icon is missing in the menu entry for Gnash in GNOME (Applications -> Sound & Video -> Gnash SWF Viewer), whereas the corresponding desktop file in /usr/share/applications/fedora-gnash.desktop has an "Icon" entry.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnash-0.9.0-0.6.20090809bzr11401.fc12.i686
Note that it happens also in a 64 bit installation.

How reproducible:
* Just install gnash package in a GNOME environment and display the content of the sub-menu Applications -> Sound & Video

Additional info:
The gnash package provides an icon that has the expected name in the desktop file: /usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/GnashG.png
May it be appropriate to put it instead in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/GnashG.png? By copying this icon in this place and updating icon cache, I managed to get an icon displayed in the menu entry for the Gnash SWF Viewer.

Comment 1 Kevin Kofler 2010-01-02 04:15:16 UTC
Indeed, the place upstream is installing the icon to is not valid, it should be under apps. Sadly, this is still broken in the 0.8.6 release.

Comment 2 Kevin Kofler 2010-01-02 04:18:43 UTC
Actually, it's our package which is installing the icon and doing it incorrectly. I'm fixing this.
