Hello, given that Mumble 1.2 was released about 1 month ago and that igjurisk has done nothing fedora-related since he introduced mumble to fedora, I have opened this ticket according to the Policy for non-responsive maintainers. I sent him an e-mail on 12-30-09 however I have not received an answer yet. Dear Maintainer, I'd kindly ask you to upgrade mumble to 1.2.0 or notice me should you no longer be interested in maintaining the package. Cheers,
This is an update to this bug according to the policy, no answer has been received yet.
I've downloaded mumble source rpm and did some small changes in spec file, now it compiles with 1.2.1 but there are still many warnings. Help appreciated :) http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-1.2.1-1.fc12.src.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-1.2.1-1.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-overlay-1.2.1-1.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-plugins-1.2.1-1.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-protocol-1.2.1-1.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/murmur-1.2.1-1.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble.spec rpmlint SPECS/mumble.spec SRPMS/mumble-1.2.1-1.fc12.src.rpm RPMS/x86_64/mu* SPECS/mumble.spec: W: patch-not-applied Patch0: compile-fix.patch mumble.src: W: patch-not-applied Patch0: compile-fix.patch mumble.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/lib64/libmumble.so.1.2.1 mumble.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/bin/mumble mumble.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/libmumble.so mumble.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so mumble-overlay.x86_64: W: no-documentation mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/lib64/mumble/libmanual.so mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/lib64/mumble/liblink.so mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: no-documentation mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: dangling-symlink /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so.1.1 /usr/lib64/libmumble.so.1.2.1 mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: dangling-symlink /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so.1 /usr/lib64/libmumble.so.1.2.1 mumble-protocol.x86_64: W: no-documentation murmur.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/sbin/murmurd murmur.x86_64: W: non-conffile-in-etc /etc/logrotate.d/murmur murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/murmur/murmur.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/murmur/murmur.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/log/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/log/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/lib/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/lib/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/run/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/run/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-conffile-in-etc /etc/dbus-1/system.d/murmur.conf murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/mumble-server.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/mumble-server.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /usr/sbin/murmurd mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /usr/sbin/murmurd mumble-server murmur.x86_64: E: subsys-not-used /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur 6 packages and 1 specfiles checked; 1 errors, 31 warnings.
Looks like you haven't really updated everything. First of all, you're not applying that one patch, you're links are wrong (wrong version in link name!) and it seems like you haven'T updated the configs yet. if everything goes well, i should be able to update the package in about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks...
PING to please cwickert :D
This is the last warning. No reply will result in you being marked AWOL and all your packages (mumble) to be orphaned... https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers
Applied the patch. I didn't know if it's still needed. The configs are from upstream package so they should be up to date. http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-1.2.1-2.fc12.src.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-overlay-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-plugins-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble-protocol-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/murmur-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm http://files.4-web.net/mumble/mumble.spec $ rpmlint SPECS/mumble.spec RPMS/x86_64/mumble-* SRPMS/mumble-1.2.1-2.fc12.src.rpm RPMS/x86_64/murmur-1.2.1-2.fc12.x86_64.rpm mumble.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/libmumble.so mumble.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so mumble-overlay.x86_64: W: no-documentation mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: no-documentation mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: dangling-symlink /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so.1.2 /usr/lib64/libmumble.so.1.2.1 mumble-plugins.x86_64: W: dangling-symlink /usr/lib64/mumble/libmumble.so.1 /usr/lib64/libmumble.so.1.2.1 mumble-protocol.x86_64: W: no-documentation murmur.x86_64: W: non-conffile-in-etc /etc/logrotate.d/murmur murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/murmur/murmur.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/murmur/murmur.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/log/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/log/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/lib/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/lib/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /var/run/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /var/run/mumble-server mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-conffile-in-etc /etc/dbus-1/system.d/murmur.conf murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /etc/mumble-server.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /etc/mumble-server.ini mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-uid /usr/sbin/murmurd mumble-server murmur.x86_64: W: non-standard-gid /usr/sbin/murmurd mumble-server murmur.x86_64: E: subsys-not-used /etc/rc.d/init.d/murmur 7 packages and 1 specfiles checked; 1 errors, 24 warnings.
Igor is now officially considered missing in action. As a FESCO member I hereby approve Andreas' request to take over maintainership of mumble [1]. The package needs to be reviewed again, please open a new review request for this. Julian, you are welcome to help Andreas with mumble maintenance.
