Doesn't crash here. Maybe it's specific to x86_64? I'm going to look at it again on Monday.
Doesn't crash on x86_64 either. dtardon->amrlima: Is there any trick in reproducing this? Like a specific mouse position, pressing a button, super-fast scrolling or so?
It inly crashes when I scroll down all the way to the bottom. I have fedora updates-testing enabled and there was an openoffice update recently. Maybe it's only in this version?
dtardon->amrlima: Well, have you updated? I've tried it in 3.1.1-19.14.fc12 and 3.1.1-19.25.fc12, without any crash. Could you try it when running writer as SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen oowriter and SAL_NOOPENGL=true oowriter and report back the results? Do you have desktop effects enabled (System->Preferences->Desktop Effects)?
The version I'm running right now is 3.1.1-19.22.fc12, so that is probably the reason you didn't have any crash. Right now I have a slow connection but when I get back home I'll update and report back here. Anyway SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen oowriter crashes and SAL_NOOPENGL=true oowriter crashes with /usr/lib64/openoffice.org3/program/soffice: line 129: 3802 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"
dtardon->amrlima: Nope, there wasn't any even sligtly possibly related change between 3.1.1-19.22.fc12 and 3.1.1-19.25.fc12 (that is, btw, "work in progress" yet). And your original report was against 3.1.1-19.14.fc12 ...
Sorry for that, forgot it crashed before the update. I think I found the problem. I renamed my ~.openoffice.org/3 folder and it doesn't crash anymore. Probably some old config from a previous version?
dtardon->amrlima: Could be. Can you give us that old config dir? Btw, do you, by any chance, use basque locale? Or used it at some time in the past? The color palette config. file for that locale is broken, so this crash could be related...
Sure, I'll attach it right away. It's quite big. I don't use basque locale, I use portuguese, hope it's not broken too :).
Created attachment 383098 [details] openoffice config dir The file is over 20 MB so I'm putting it in my dropbox account and giving the URL.
Fix avoiding immediate crash checked in, will be in >=3.1.1-19.25.fc12 . Thanks for the config dir!
Glad I could help!
dtardon->amrlima: Thank you for your collaboration once more. The crash turned out to be caused by a bug in oo.o, not by any corruption of your configuration. The bug has been fixed :)
You're welcome, I'm happy that it's fixed now. Thank you for fixing :).
