Description Dave Malcolm 2010-01-12 17:42:10 UTC
Spec URL: http://dmalcolm.fedorapeople.org/python3.spec
SRPM URL: http://dmalcolm.fedorapeople.org/python3-3.1.1-13.fc12.src.rpm
Description:
Python 3 is a new version of the language that is incompatible with the 2.x
line of releases. The language is mostly the same, but many details, especially
how built-in objects like dictionaries and strings work, have changed
considerably, and a lot of deprecated features have finally been removed.

Scratch build here:

Note: the review request for this package was originally posted as bug 526126 by Andrew McNabb, whilst Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams had also been creating his own packages. I merged the two versions of the specfile, and have performed other cleanups whilst various people have reviewed the resulting packaging and provided additional fixes. Thanks Andrew and Ignacio for their work on this package, and thanks to everyone who's helped review this.

The request in bug 562126 was approved by Tim Lauridsen (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c76). The above links are the same as in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c68 (the version he approved).

As discussed in:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c24
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c60
I'm opening a fresh review in order to set myself as "Reporter", and I'll mark the old review as a duplicate of this one.

Hope this makes sense!

*** Bug 526126 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Comment 2 Dave Malcolm 2010-01-12 17:47:23 UTC
Tim: I've taken the liberty of adding you to the CC and assigning you this new review bug (see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c80). Hope that's OK.

Please can you approve? Thanks! (I'm assuming that the review work you did for bug 526126 is sufficient, given that the spec/srpm/scratch build are the same as in that other bug).

Note: I'll fix the issues noted in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c79 after import (assuming that's OK with you).

Comment 3 Tim Lauridsen 2010-01-13 15:19:54 UTC
APPROVED ( check https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126 for review details)

CVS done (by process-cvs-requests.py).

Comment 7 Dave Malcolm 2010-01-13 22:51:17 UTC
Thanks!

I've imported the -13 srpm, and fixed up the issue reported at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526126#c79 as -14.

I've built the resulting package as python3-3.1.1-14.fc13 into dist-f13 here:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=1919905

Closing as NEXTRELEASE.
