I'm sorry, the suggested command "yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update minicom" does not work for me. (In reply to comment #5) > I'm sorry, the suggested command "yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update > minicom" does not work for me. Submitted update is for Fedora 13 - your machine needs F-12 update. AFAIK that update is being prepared at the moment - so please wait for that one.
I've downloaded minicom-2.4-1.fc13.x86_64.rpm from http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=161178 "LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 minicom" works for me [artem@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa | grep minicom minicom-2.4-1.fc13.x86_64
I am not sure how it will be looked here, but I could not attach file. The end of each line of menu in Russian is apeared as double unreadable characters. The snapshot is from 80x25 gnome-terminal. I have tried Czech, Russian and English version and it looks fine. http://jgorig.fedorapeople.org/minicom/minicom.txt Other console applications are OK? What font are you using?
I get the cause of the problem. I have RS-232 with only 3 wires connected RxD, TxD and GND. I use this to direct connect to Atmel box. When I start minicom, it always shows some junk chars on the screen like below: quote> Нажмите CTRL-A Z для получения подсказки по клавишам }W[[oW_{u] >end of quote In this case if I run menu I'll get wrong menu picture. I remove my RS-232 cable and the picture is fine in Russian. Ok, I get it. But how about this: pretend that modem has got bad handshaking connection, so I'll get junk on screen. so the menu will be messed up.
