Description of problem: Boinc 6.6 has a scheduler bug, as per http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=923 (etc) that prevents it fetch new work e.g. SETI@home workunits Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): boinc-client-6.6.37-2.r18632svn.fc11.x86_64 How reproducible: Until I replaced boinc-client and boinccmd with those from http://boincdl3.ssl.berkeley.edu/mirror/boinc_6.10.17_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh no work was downloaded. Replaced binaries files, then ran #cd /var/lib/boinc/ ; boinccmd --project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ update and now work is being run Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install boinc-client 2. Join setiathome 3. Wait Actual results: No work is done Expected results: Work is done
There is boinc 6.10 in updates-testing, does it work for you? Try: su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update boinc-client'
Installs, run, says it's doing SETI units. Doing the 'update' boinccmd again says: 16-Jan-2010 18:17:43 [SETI@home] update requested by user 16-Jan-2010 18:17:47 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 16-Jan-2010 18:17:47 [SETI@home] Not reporting or requesting tasks 16-Jan-2010 18:17:52 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed So I guess it is working. IMHO this needs pushing out fairly soon...
