Description of problem: Burning a small 180 MB .ISO image with wodim -v speed=10 image.iso results in a CD that, upon re-insertion, provokes I/O errors. For example, with such a disc I'd see a lot of: end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 364000 Now, I do not believe this is hardware related since I can reproduce this on two different machines. One is x86-64 and has a DVD writer, the other i686 and has a DVD player/CD-RW writer. ON EITHER MACHINE, the I/O error is reported at exactly the same sector, from INDEPENDENT burn jobs of the same image, and when using different brands of media. The same I/O errors are also observed when a disc burnt in one machine is put into the other. (The problems do not occur with Cdrecord-ProDVD-ProBD-Clone 2.01.01a73.) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): wodim-1.1.10-1.fc12.[x86_64|i686] How reproducible: Always, and across different machines. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Produce an image around 1/3 of CD capacity. 2. Burn. 3. Eject and re-insert.
Does anyone need any additional info on this? I find it strange that a serious flaw in cdrkit seems to have gone unacknowledged two months after this report.
Is this because of you try to burn twice one image on cd without erasing it?
