Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2011:0189 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE Red Hat Network Satellite bug fix update 2011-02-01 10:31:45 UTC

Description Erik M Jacobs 2010-01-27 17:10:44 UTC
Description of problem:
Creating a new kickstart profile immediately adds it to the PXE menu.
Removing a kickstart profile does not immediately remove it from the PXE menu. I have found that a cobbler sync is required from the Satellite UI to get the removed profiles to disappear from the PXE menu.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cobbler 1.6.6-3.el5sat

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create kickstart profile
2. Remove kickstart profile

Actual results:
PXE menu does not reflect removed profile(s)

Expected results:
PXE menu does not show removed profile(s)

Comment 1 Justin Sherrill 2010-01-27 22:00:41 UTC
If you run 'cobbler sync' manually, or create a new kickstart file the pxe menu does get updated. Need to call the sync api when we delete a profile...

Comment 2 Partha Aji 2010-03-29 20:47:59 UTC
A patch was sent to Cobbler Upstream to automatically redo the PXE menu when a kickstart profile is generated.. Look at
https://fedorahosted.org/pipermail/cobbler-devel/2010-March/001527.html for the patch..

Comment 3 Justin Sherrill 2010-12-16 13:16:32 UTC
This should be fixed in the newest available cobbler already in production for Sat53. We just need to QA it.
