Hi Jiri,

Which result can mean this bug is fixed?
1.Only can VF be enabled in Dom0
2.Not only VF can be enabled in Dom0, but the VF can be assigned to guest and I can use VF link to transmit data?

Comment 8 Jiri Pirko 2010-03-02 12:18:38 UTC
Don, would you mind to answer c#7. Thanks a lot.

Comment 9 Don Dutile (Red Hat) 2010-03-02 16:35:22 UTC
As long as you boot dom0 with pci_pt_e820_access=on

on the kernel boot line, than VF's should be usable in dom0 & in FV guest.

So, wrt c#6, #2 is fixed with pci_pt_e820_access=on
on the kernel cmdline.

- Don

Comment 10 Rita Wu 2010-03-04 06:53:44 UTC
Verified on kernel-2.6.18-164.15.1.el5.

commands added in cmdline:
kernerl /xen.gz iommu=force
module /vmlinuz pci_pt_e820_access=on

Now VF can be enabled in Dom0 and can be assigned to guests. At the same time, VF link can be pinged successfully without missing packages.
