Description of problem: Eye Of Gnome insists on US letter format in File>Print>Page Setup (it is not just the default setting but the combo box is also grayed out and doesn't allow for a change to e.g. A4) although System>Administration>Printing, in the properties of the respective printer, the format is set to A4. The printer is a Kyocera FS 1920, an A4 grayscale printer. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Eye of GNOME 2.28.2 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setting locale to en_US 2. Plug in Kyocera printer and set printer format setting to A4 in System>Administration>Printing 3. Open an image in Eye Of Gnome and check format in File>Print...>Page Setup Actual results: Setting is not only set per default to US letter but even forced to it. Expected results: Paper size is set to A4 or at least allows switching to it. Additional info:
There is a separate page setup dialog which lets you change paper formats. Eog should probably switch to the combined print+page-setup dialog that GTK+ offers nowadays.
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
> There is a separate page setup dialog which lets you change paper formats. I'd like to note that this really wasn't obvious to me as a user and I simply ended up being unable to print anything using Eye of Gnome because I was unable to submit a format to the printer that worked (since the setting was greyed out and how would I know it has to be changed at some other place instead where that setting magically ISN'T greyed out. Normally you'd expect a setting to work everywhere you're able to find it and not just at some of the places, whereas it's simply greyed out at others).
This has been fixed upstream and in f-14. Backported for F-12 here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2469086 I'll be pushing this for testing once it is done. Also, backport for f-13: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2469102
