Description of problem: Yumex is supposed to display updates, installed packages and available packages in different colors, and those colors are supposed to be configurable by editing the Preferences in the program. However, changing the Preferences has no effect, even if you exit the program and restart it. The colors are also listed in /etc/yumex.config, and editing it has no effect either. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): The current version for Fedora 11. How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Yumex 2.Edit the Preferences and change a color 3.Click OK, close the program and restart it. Actual results: No change in the colors Expected results: The colors change to reflect your changes. Additional info: Note that this bug is not always as trivial as it looks. The default colors can cause difficulties for people with color blindness.
I have the same problem, Fedora 11 x86_64, completely up to date. The problem is not just for people with color perception issues. Even if your vision has no problem with colors, there is no way to tell if packages are installed or not. For example, with "All" packages selected, search on "bluetooth." The window will display all bluetooth packages, but there is no way to tell which is installed and which is not.
I can reproduce :) fixed upstream. http://git.fedoraproject.org/git/?p=yumex.git;a=commitdiff;h=3c8bff7782e196f166981b5e212f4cb9dc1c550c
This message is a reminder that Fedora 11 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 11. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '11'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 11's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 11 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
This problem still exists in F12 and F13.
I will release 2.9.8 soon, it will include the fix
