Description Deependra Singh Shekhawat 2010-02-24 18:45:53 UTC
Description of problem:
When I connect my Huawei EC1260 on USB and try to use NM to connect me through it fails after a period of time trying to connect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
NetworkManager-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-debuginfo-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-glib-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-gnome-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
kernel-PAE-2.6.31.12-174.2.22.fc12.i686

Note that these are latest build installed directly from koji in the hope that it will work with the latest patches but doesn't help any.

How reproducible:
Following are the steps to reproduce the bug

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot a updated fedora 12 box
2. After login attach the EC1260 into one of the usb port.
3. Right click on NM applet icon and click on Edit connection
4. From NM editor click on Mobile broadband and then click on Add
5. Wizard will show up, displaying the Huawei Technologies mobile
6. Select the country as India
7. Select the provider as reliance
8. Finish.
9. Fill in the username and password
// Mine I have filed
10. Click on apply
11. Click on NM applet icon and select your mobile broadband connection to connect
12. It starts displaying the connecting icon but no green signal on both the dots. Keeps going on for few seconds and then fails.

Let me know how can I help in further debugging this issue. Also let me know how to utilize the debuginfo rpm I have installed in further debugging.

Also note that wvdial is working just fine with the same modem. Also note that the same device work perfectly fine in fedora 11 which was earlier there in this laptop. It's strange that it stopped working in fedora 12.

Thanks & Regards

kernel-PAE-2.6.32.9-67.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-glib-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-gnome-0.8.0-1.git20100219.fc12.i686
ModemManager-0.3-2.git20100211.fc12.i686
NetworkManager-pptp-0.7.997-3.git20100120.fc12.i686

Closing it.
