Any chance to see this in F12?
(In reply to comment #4) > Any chance to see this in F12? Sure, the chances are good. ;-) I'll work on this in the next days.
Thank you. Please check when you have the build complete: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=560727#c7
I would wait for 1.5.5 as 1.5.4 has a bad crashing bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611128 The new release should be out in ~1 week but maybe a patch could be added from git to fix this in the meantime.

I've just talked with the banshee developers and since they plan the release for 2010-03-10, I think it is easier just to wait. I'll postpone the update for F12 until 1.5.5 is out.

Tested fc12 on F12 x86_64. 1. Got some sudden crashes (ABRT caught one but refuses sending the report); 2. Does not update its window (song title, artist, album and playlist focus) upon song change while playing.
Testing the F12 build as well here. I did not get any crashes during playback and the window stuff seems to update just fine for me as well. What's not really working: a) album browser => already fixed in git master for the next version I was told b) hangs on quit so I need to 'killall banshee-1' c) resets volume to 100% on every song change for me So 1.5.5 works better for me than 1.5.4 but 1.5.3 was still more reliable...
Michael, unfortunately the issues you comment have been fixed after the 1.5.5 release, at least (a) and (c), and the new grid view for albums has been improved in its use of memory, for example. This version has included some new features to be tested and improved until the final 1.6 release. What about packaging a git snapshot instead?
A little addition, — the new version forgets the choice of equalizer preset upon exit. At the program start it is always set to «Pop». E.g., set «Party» and exit. Restart, and it is «Pop» again.
Does not trigger sync when the associated playlist (based on song rating) changes.
I think we should focus on making banshee 1.6.0 (due out in 2 weeks iirc) "kick ass" on Fedora 13. This means making sure all bugs mentioned here are filed and fixed upstream as well as shaking out any Fedora-specific issues.

(In reply to comment #15) > forgets the choice of equalizer preset > upon exit. At the program start it is always set to «Pop». I should cancel these. Reinstalled Banshee using packagekit frontend, updated gstreamer and its plugins, restarted machine... no connection, but something fixed these two. :) Sorry for making noise.
