comment
-----
It's likely that activating "offline" mode, while something in Claws Mail is using the network, leads to a crash.

How to reproduce
-----
1. Access Google Mail via IMAP.
2. Clicked offline/online icon to go offline because of timeouts trying out to reach Google Mail.
3. Crash.

Comment 2 Bug Zapper 2010-07-30 10:57:08 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 14 development cycle.
Changing version to '14'.

More information and reason for this action is here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 17:03:00 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 4 Michael Schwendt 2013-02-28 21:16:22 UTC
[reset to NEW since there is no fix yet]

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2013-12-21 08:25:35 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 6 Michael Schwendt 2014-04-21 15:59:43 UTC
It seems this (and related symptoms) may have been fixed with the recent commits for http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/claws-mail/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3145

Comment 7 Michael Schwendt 2014-04-23 22:42:05 UTC
Confirming previous comment, I've closed the upstream ticket for this bug:

Comment 8 Andreas Bierfert 2014-04-25 06:09:40 UTC
Sounds good. I am in the process of putting together a rawhide package including these patches to get some more testing.
