Description Michael Cronenworth 2010-03-03 17:35:53 UTC
Description of problem: Starting gnome-rdp may result in the presentation of a blank window that cannot be closed except by kill. If there is a chance it opens normally, adding or editing hosts has a chance to freeze as well. Also, it may freeze when right clicking on the system tray icon. I have 15 hosts in my list with 3 groups.

When gnome-rdp freezes, it polls forever, ie. no CPU usage, but no response to stimuli. I tried running gdb on it, but I am not very proficient with Mono/C#. Here's a backtrace when a freeze is experienced.

I noticed these messages in my /var/log/messages file, which may or may not be helpful.

Mar 3 11:12:28 localhost gnome-keyring-daemon[23270]: couldn't write 19 bytes to client: Broken pipe

The number of bytes is random.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-rdp-0.2.3-6.fc12.x86_64
mono-core-2.4.3.1-1.fc12.x86_64

How reproducible: Random, but frequent. I use gnome-rdp about once a month, so I don't know when this really started happening. Sometimes I can add a host OK, but a majority of the time the app will freeze.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check "Use keyring" in Options.
2. Start adding a new host.
3. Click on "OK"
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 if it is successful, as it sometimes works.

Actual results: Freezed app.

Expected results: Non-frozen app.

Additional info: Bug 354041 may be related, and the problem may be in gnome-keyring, but NetworkManager is functioning fine and I do not experience gnome-rdp stuck in a tight loop (100% cpu usage).

Comment 1 Michael Cronenworth 2010-06-01 15:16:00 UTC
In Fedora 13, Gnome RDP seems to not use the keyring, therefore it does not save or remember passwords. I cannot log into my RDP machines at all now.

Comment 2 Michael Cronenworth 2010-06-30 16:05:15 UTC
Seeing as Gnome RDP is broken I have moved over to use remmina.
