Description Rolf Fokkens 2010-03-07 09:24:06 UTC
Created attachment 398299 [details]
New spec file that solves the problem and creates a devel package as well.

Description of problem:
Trying to get XBMC included in RPMfusion building it against the fedora hdhomerun package fails as no header files are available.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.0-0.12.20090415.fc12

How reproducible:
Try to build XBMC (or probably any other package) against hdhomerun.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to build software against hdhomerun
2. Get confused about the lack of header files
3. Conclude that they're not provided

Actual results:
Build failure.

Expected results:
Succesful build

Committed similar spec changes to rawhide (along with a version bump), building now...

Thanks! Not sure why this happened, but for some reason the component got switched from hdhomerun to 0xFFFF, so switching back.

Also is possible for you to build and push F-12/F-13 builds to updates-testing at least? I would like to be able to test our RPM Fusion xbmc package using the new hdhomerun-devel package. If you have no time right now, I can do this (I'm a provenpackager). Thanks!

Narf. Not sure how the heck that happened... I blame Chrome... Now to see if it happens again... :)

Yeah, I can nudge along F12 and F13 builds as well.

Comment 8 Rolf Fokkens 2010-03-12 17:46:22 UTC
this new hdhomerun has different return values for some functions, some funcs that now return int returned void in the past. I'm not sure if this is a serious API change, which should require a different soname.

Probably should be a versioned soname bump, but that would require some discussion with upstream. For Fedora, I don't think its particularly critical, since nothing has been building against it prior to this update.
