qlcnic is the new NIC Driver for P3+ based Converged Network Adapter (CNA). We need to provide support for this driver in RHEL 5.6. This BZ is to track anaconda boot/install support for this new driver.
Ameen, the only thing we need from you on this is to provide a string for the name of the device you want associated with the driver that will appear in user space. Something like: QLogic QLE82xx FCoE Converged Network Adapter

Ameen, will Qlogic test this?
(In reply to comment #4) > Ameen, > will Qlogic test this? Yes, QLogic will, hence the 'OtherQA' keyword. Thanks!
Correct, QLogic will test this.
This should be fixed in anaconda-11.1.2.213.
~~ Attention Customers and Partners - RHEL 5.6 Public Beta is now available on RHN ~~ A fix for this 'OtherQA' BZ should be present and testable in the release. Hi, We are trying to verify this at QLogic. Is there any recommendation on the test to be performed for verifying this.

I don't think just installing RHEL 5.6 on a system using RHEL 5.6 Beta ISOs would verify the changes in this BZ.

I would guess the basics? Like, boot-time recognizing of the device with qlcnic, as well as installing to devices that use the same? This specific bugzilla is against the anaconda component so this specific to boot and install of 5.6 media.
(In reply to comment #11) > Hi, We are trying to verify this at QLogic. Is there any recommendation on the > test to be performed for verifying this. Hi Ameen, boot the install media on a system that has the required device (which needs the qlcnic driver). Since this is a NIC perform a network installation using this device to fetch packages. If install completes successfully and system boots into runlevel 3 and the device is activated/recognized by the driver, this test is PASS.
We have performed the following tests to verify this BZ sing RHEL 5.6 alpha 2.6.18-227.el5 kernel Did PXE boot RHEL5.6 Alpha installaer qlcnic adapter gets detected It gets DHCP IP...Did Ping Did NFS installation of RHEL5.6 OS comes up fine.. qlcnic is activated in runlevel 3 & 5 & interfaces has IP. Ran NIC traffic
Thank you Ameen. Moving to VERIFIED.
