Hi,

That camera uses a sn9c20x bridge, which is supported, but we need to know
what kind of sensor it uses.

Can you please install the windows driver and then collect the inf file, as described by the sn9c20x driver author here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8018268&postcount=3

Thanks,

Hans

Thanks for quick reply.
Forum post is not very useful, because actually INF file called oem*.inf (* is some number).
Line for my camera:
%USBPCamMicDesc% = SN.PCamMic,USB\VID_0458&PID_704a&MI_00; SN9C202 + MI1320 for Slim 1320

May be a whole inf file will be helpful for other users of Genius cameras (see attachment "genius.inf"). Almost all of them based on SN9C201/SN9C202.

Hmm, bummer that sensor is not yet supported inside the sn9c20x driver, so this is not a case of simply adding a new usb id. Can you please discuss this at the
microdia mailinglist <microdia> ? You might need to subscribe to
be able to post there.

Good news, I got in contact with the author of the driver and he very recently added support for the sensor in your webcam to the sn9c20x driver.

I've added the necessary patches to the Fedora kernel for F-13, can you please give this kernel version:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=162665

A try ?

Thanks,

Hans

Thanks, Hans.

Can this be done with Fedora LiveCD? Actually I use Ubuntu on my desktop.

Hi,

Yes and no, if you wait a bit till F-13 beta is released then you can test with the F-13 beta livecd, as the kernel for that will include the updated driver.

I'll put this bug back in need info until you've tested with F-13 beta.

Thanks & Regards,

Hans
