/var/log/slim.log is apparently logging *all* stderr from any app spawned by child processes of its bash login parent. Some apps, such as "Miro", output a *lot* of debug info, and this is all now ending up on disk when using slim. I understand that the slim.log can be disabled entirely in slim.conf, but since it's enabled by default, it should either log *slim-specific* info only, or, a logrotate.d conf should be provided in the package to keep it trim. Or, perhaps there should be two logs: a small slim.log, and an optional verbose slim.debug

Thanks for adding the logrotate.d conf; it will help in many cases where the default log grows too quickly. The default logrotate conf still means 4 weeks of rotated logs will be kept however.
The proper way to fix this is to make the change upstream. But upstream is mostly dead and the stack of patches I have is growing too much (and I don't really have the time to maintain a fork). If changing the rotation to one week is good enough, I'll roll a new update.
