I have no intention of making beep setuid root along with the security implications that come with that. You are welcome to take over the beep package if you want to go that route.

Keeping this bug open makes no sense, therefore I am closing it. If someone wants to make give beep more priviledges, please reopen the bug and take over maintainership of the package.
