--- Additional comment from ykopkova on 2010-03-19 05:36:30 EDT --- Tim, I've tried a new version: Without any drivers installed python /usr/share/system-config-printer/check-device-ids.py Examining connected devices Installing relevant drivers using session service Fetching driver list └── Kyocera FS-1020D: MFG:Kyocera;MDL:FS-1020D; (No drivers) With foomatic drivers installed # python /usr/share/system-config-printer/check-device-ids.py Examining connected devices Installing relevant drivers using session service Fetching driver list └── Kyocera FS-1020D: MFG:Kyocera;MDL:FS-1020D; (No drivers) MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-Postscript.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-ljet4d.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-ljet4.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-hpijs.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-hpijs-pcl5e.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D-lj4dith.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic]
Could you please show me the output of this?: su -c 'lpinfo --include-schemes=usb -l -v' | grep device-id It's because I also need to see the CMD field, not just the MFG and MDL fields. I've updated the check-device-ids.py script to do that in future.
# su -c 'lpinfo --include-schemes=usb -l -v' | grep device-id device-id = ID:FS-1020D;MFG:Kyocera;CMD:PCLXL,PostScript Emulation,PCL5E,PJL;MDL:FS-1020D;CLS:PRINTER;DES:Kyocera Mita FS-1020D;CID:HP Laserjet 1300 Series;
Fixed in foomatic-4.0-11.20100204.fc13 for the PPDs. The XML data will be fixed next time foomatic is rebuilt so will be foomatic-4.0.4-3.fc13.
Sorry, should be: foomatic-4.0.4-5.fc13.
Thank you, Tim. Will wait for foomatic rebuilt to test automatic driver installation with this printer.
