Description of problem: Using the lpinfo -l -v output from bug #436220, I get this: $ python check-device-ids.py "HP Color LaserJet 3800" "MDL:HP Color LaserJet 3800;DES:HP Color LaserJet 3800;CMD:POSTSCRIPT,PCL;CLS:PRINTER;" Installing relevant drivers using session service Ignoring exception: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) Fetching driver list └── HP Color LaserJet 3800: MFG:;MDL:HP Color LaserJet 3800;CMD:POSTSCRIPT,PCL; (No drivers) MISSING drv:///hp/hpcups.drv/hp-color_laserjet_3800-pcl3.ppd [/usr/share/cups/drv/hp/hpcups.drv] MISSING foomatic:HP-Color_LaserJet_3800-hpijs.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING foomatic:HP-Color_LaserJet_3800-Postscript.ppd [/usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic] MISSING lsb/usr/HP/hp-color_laserjet_3800-ps.ppd.gz [/usr/share/ppd/HP/hp-color_laserjet_3800-ps.ppd.gz] Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): hplip-3.10.2-5.fc13
Wrong component, sorry.
Tim: There's no MFG field in the device-id in Description. There's "MFG:HP;MDL:HP Color LaserJet 3800;DES:HP Color LaserJet 3800;" 1284DeviceID in hpcups.drv, which is the same as in Description.
That's disappointing. The ID is broken then -- they *must* include MFG and MDL fields. Not really anything we can do about this one.
