Description Lee Mitchell 2010-04-08 00:12:16 UTC
# Note: I am requesting a public space on which to place my spec and SRPM.

Spec URL: <spec info here>
SRPM URL: <srpm info here>

Description: gretl is an econometrics package, including a shared library, a
command-line client program and a graphical user interface.

Gretl offers an intuitive user interface; it is very easy to get up and
running with econometric analysis. Thanks to its association with the econometrics textbooks by Ramu Ramanathan, Jeffrey Wooldridge, James Stock
and Mark Watson, the package offers many practice data files and command
scripts.

The upstream source is http://gretl.sourceforge.net/

I recommend www.dropbox.com to place specs and srpms.

Using the link below will give you and me both 250 MB of bonus space.

Lee, at least you can attach spec-file right here.

Peter, I want to pretty it up before I post. Hopefully this weekend.
Please note that I have put NotReady on the whiteboard.

thx, Lee

Since there weren't any developments on this bug report I filed another one. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=628202

Hannes, did you ask Lee whether he's still interested in maintaining gretl? Usually, you should take over a package without asking for permission.

As far as I see, Lee isn't a member of the packager group yet. Thus, this bug should have been blocked with FE-NEEDSPONSOR.

I meant: you should NOT take over a package without asking for permission. :)

No I didn't ask him but I wouldn't bother if he is interested in maintaining it. I will not stick to it like glue if he likes to finish the work. I just thought that it would be good to get gretl into fedora. Since there wasn't really any spec or something in here I didn't think that I overtake this package because there was nothing I could use.

Perhaps we should just wait a bit if he is showing up and then talk to him what he wants to do.

I didn't want to offend him or anyone else, just want to do some packaging of programs which are useful for me.

Best Regards

As long as a review request hasn't been closed, the corresponding (potential) package is assigned to the submitter, even if there's no working SRPM yet. However, the submitter should of course provide some reviewable files in a timely manner, or he should close the ticket if he's no longer interested.

That's fine, and it's great that you care. Let's just wait for a response before we take action here.

Since we didn't get a response within a week, I'm closing here.
Lee, if you're still interested in joining the packager group, feel free to submit another package.
