Created attachment 405722 [details] Printing example, first side Description of problem: When I try to print duplex (flip on long edge) on an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a, page two is mirrored on the Y axis, making the 2nd side unusable. Also, the page is not rotated, making the output head to foot instead of head to head. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): hplip-3.10.2-2.fc12.x86_64 and ancilliary files. This also affects the i686 version. How reproducible: Update to hplip-3.10.2-2 (yum update hplip* hpijs libsane-hpaio, reset printer driver to pick up new driver and attempt to print duplex. 2nd page mirrored and not rotated Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update hplip* to 3.10.2-2 along with hpijs and libsane-hpaio 2. reconfigure printer to use newer ppd from installed drivers 3. print a duplex document and select the option to flip on long edge 4. document will have the 2nd page mirrored on Y axis (mirrored left-to-right) and not rotated so that it prints head to foot instead of head to head 5. Downgrade the printer files to 3.9.8-21 6. reconfigure printer to use the proper ppd 7. print a duplex document and select the option to flip on long edge 8. document prints correctly Actual results: Unusable document with 2nd pages mirrored on Y axis and head to foot Expected results: 2nd page should print with heads and feet of the pages aligned and readable on both sides. Additional info: As stated, this affects both the x86_64 and the i686 versions. I have tested on both my desktop system (64 bit) and my netbook (i686) with the same results for both.

I was pointed toward Bug 579743, and installed ghostscript.x86_64 0:8.71-6.fc12 from updates-testing, and can report that this fixes the problem on the OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a also. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 54106 ***
