Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2011:1451 normal SHIPPED_LIVE openmotif bug fix update 2011-11-14 09:25:06 EST

  None (edit)
Description Ihor Hayvuk 2010-04-21 05:03:12 EDT
A customer reported followed issue:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have an application built on a older ( fixed ) copy of xvtdsc 5.5.
xvtdsc is built on openmotif.

Our application works well with OpenMotif 2.3.0-0.5. I will narrow this to
a Red Hat 5 x86 platform or RHEL5 x86. The RHEL5 x86 openmotif rpm is
openmotif-2.3.0-0.5.el5.i386.

If we upgrade the openmotif rpm from RHEL5 x86, to
openmotif-2-3.1-2.el5.i386, our application seems to write over drawing
windows with the background color. Text area and menus are working. The
application doesn't segv or anything, it just doesn't draw.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have reproduced this using XVT DSC and upstream Open Motif version 2.3.0.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Run XVT design with upstream OM 2.3.0 or above
2. Create a new project in XVT design

Expected results:
Empty left panels filled using background color in Project windows.

I have already fixed this in upstream.
Comment 4 RHEL Product and Program Management 2010-08-09 14:11:33 EDT
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the
current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this
request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support
representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant,
in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Comment 5 Ihor Hayvuk 2010-08-19 04:19:54 EDT
I have updated the patch in the upstream.
