I have the same problem and my SB emulation is disabled under KDE

Comment 3 Reartes Guillermo 2011-04-14 21:30:48 UTC
I have the same message. I really do not use this sound card at this time, because it is located in the VGA card and F13 gets hyperconfused when booting with HDMI output. (a full
electric power off is requiered to recover the hw). I dual boot F15 Alpha (ok with HDMI) and F13 (do not even try to boot with HDMI), so i use DVI. And of course i have a discrete sound card, a sb live!24-bit pci. So i do not know if sound shuters or not.
When F15 is released and in uninstall F13, i was thinking of using the HDMI to use it with
headpones....

Comment 4 Ken Booth 2012-02-01 21:42:53 UTC
I get the same error about 20 seconds after I completely lose all sound from the HDA Intel builtin sound card on my Lenovo T510.

The only solution is to reboot or use a different sound card such Logitech USB headphones.

[Alsa-info will be attached]

Since it does still happens with both F16 and F17, can the 'version' of this bug-report be changed to '16' or '17' ?

Both F14 and F15 are EOL.

My Dell e4310 with Fedora 16 and intel sound card:

In this particular systems, sometimes i do not have sound.

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 18:39:24 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:

Happens in a KVM VM with intel-hda sound and virgl. When a video is playing in the guest, switching to a different application on the host using Alt+Tab or a different workspace (using ctrl+alt+arrow) causes the audio and video to go out of sync in the VM's video.

In my case, since this happens only with virgl (virtio-vga) and not using other display adapters, it could be something in qemu as well. Will need more investigation, but opening the bug and keeping it marked to the kernel so it doesn't get lost. If it turns out to be something that's fixable in qemu, I'll clone this one.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************
We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 25 kernel bugs.

Fedora 25 has now been rebased to 4.9.3-200.fc25. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 26, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 26.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 19:06:29 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 11 Fedora End Of Life 2017-12-12 10:30:08 UTC
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
