Description of Problem: Well, OK, it works fine if you use just one workspace and just one xterm/rxvt ! _BUT_ In _ALL_ versions prior 0.80.X I had a beautiful combo of 10 workspaces (alt-1 - alt-0) and plenthora of open rxvts, something like three to six per workspace. I edited WMState (when NO wmaker process was active) and added proper `-title FINE_AND_DANDY_NAME` to each rxvt startup. After a X startup (wmaker is default) _ALL_ workspaces would be restored with _ALL_ rxvts with nice names on them. Now, that just do not work any more. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): # rpm -qa | grep Windo WindowMaker-0.80.0-6 WindowMaker-libs-0.80.0-6 How Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start several rxvts with -title for each one 2. save wmaker session and restart wmaker 3. *plonk* Actual Results: rxvts are _shuffled_ across workspaces and almost none -title is at the proper workspace place Expected Results: everything fine and dandy just as in before 0.80.x Additional Information: available on request
Does this persist with 0.80.0-7?
Yes ! I even tried -8. The very same. If I add `-title Blah_Blah` in rxvt line in WMState config file funny stuff happens like rxvts on random places and _wrong_ rxvt has title displayed ! :)
Possibly related: when I first upgraded I had a few problems and had to delete my old config files from GNUStep/Defaults because wmaker was segfaulting ... I think they might be a few "incompatibilities" between the older and newer versions. It could be the new (non-libPropList) code for handling the config files.
Humm I'll have to let this one go for this release. I've kicked this bug upstream to the php developers http://www.windowmaker.org/cgi-bin/bugs/incoming?id=672;expression=session%20state%20is%20not%20preserved;user=guest Phil =--=
Ok seems to be fixed in the current rawhide version (0.81.0) ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/SRPMS/SRPMS (WindowMaker-0.81.0-2.arc/rpm) Phil =--=
