This is somewhat similar to bug 583450 but one quite interesting bit is:

#8  0x000000358e6de204 in fast_function (f=<value optimized out>,
    throwflag=<value optimized out>) at Python/ceval.c:3850
        retval = 0x0
        i = <value optimized out>
        fastlocals = 0x1faed98
        f =
    Frame 0x1faec20, for file /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/gpodder/gui.py, line 2088, in play_or_download (self=<gPodder(hboxContainer=<gtk.HBox at remote 0x1d4ca00>, pbFeedUpdate=<gtk.ProgressBar at remote 0x1d4e370>, item_toggle_played=<gtk.Action at remote 0x1d4db90>, scrolledwindow1=<gtk.ScrolledWindow at remote 0x1d4df50>, scrolledwindow6=<gtk.ScrolledWindow at remote 0x1d4df00>, cbLimitDownloads=<gtk.CheckButton at remote 0x1d4d3c0>, user_apps_reader=<UserAppsReader(mimetypes=['audio', 'video'], _UserAppsReader__has_read=True, apps=[<UserApplication(cmd='default', mime='audio/*;video/*', name=u'Default application', icon='gtk-open') at remote 0x1d46ad0>, <UserApplication(cmd='', mime='audio/*;video/*', name='', icon='') at remote 0x1d5b350>, <UserApplication(cmd='brasero %U', mime='application/x-cd-image;application/x-cdrdao-toc;application/x-cue;application/x-toc;audio/x-scpls;audio/x-ms-asx;audio/x-mp3-playlist;audio/x-mpegurl;application/x-brasero;', name='Brasero', icon='brasero') at remote 0x1d5c19...(truncated)
        tstate = <value optimized out>
        stack = <value optimized out>
        co = <value optimized out>
        nd = 0
        globals = <value optimized out>
        argdefs = <value optimized out>
        d = 0x0

Maybe this has something to do with the other problems gPodder has had in play_or_download. gpodder-2.6-7.fc13 is in updates-testing, you may want to give it a try.

Comment 3 Bug Zapper 2011-06-02 11:12:14 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
