Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Harald Hoyer 2010-06-22 14:08:18 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #348321 +++

system-config-network should be ported to use NSS library for cryptography.
See the tracking bug for details and links on how it could be done.

and how should I change this python application? :)

--- Additional comment from tmraz on 2007-10-23 07:47:43 EDT ---

Well of course you will need python bindings for NSS for that.

--- Additional comment from harald on 2007-10-23 08:26:25 EDT ---

and what crypto libs does s-c-network use? and where?

--- Additional comment from tmraz on 2007-10-23 08:41:20 EDT ---

It uses sha from Python in editipsec.py.

Ideally python should use NSS for SHA1 so no changes in s-c-network would be
necessary.

release. If you would still like it considered for the current
release as an exception, please make that request with your support
representative.

Comment 8 Jan Ščotka 2010-08-04 13:58:48 UTC
checked git repo:
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=system-config-network.git;a=commitdiff;h=740ae6e649e3979a4d4231a97cbd7ee51f1c3670

and also checked in package via: for foo in `rpm -ql system-config-network-tui `;do grep nss "$foo" && echo $foo; done

shown changes as mentioned in git, but no /src/netconfpkg/exception.py file there, what is expected, because, no gui here, only text mode

Comment 9 releng-rhel@redhat.com 2010-11-10 21:43:14 UTC
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 is now available and should resolve
the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed
with a resolution of CURRENTRELEASE. You may reopen this bug report if the
solution does not work for you.
