Can you try the version from rawhide?

What were you doing when this happened? Can you duplicate it?

Comment 3 Flora Chatzimichali 2010-06-28 18:19:01 UTC
When i am clicking on main window, the application crashing.

I am sorry but i can't try the version from rawhide.

Comment 4 Kevin Fenzi 2010-06-28 20:10:26 UTC
What font have you loaded? Can you attach a copy or tell me where to get it?
Or you just open it and it crashes without any further action?

I need sufficent information to be able to duplicate the crash...

OK Kevin I will try to write the active making.

1. Start FontForge (no problem)
2. Load the font (no problem), the font is BodoniFLF-Roman from http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ but I do not remember though with a different font, the application crashed.
3. Open the font's window (no problem)
4. Double click on a letter and opening the main window for the design. (no problem)
5. From Menu/Window/New Metrics Window and open window. I write the word. (no problem)
6. Go back to main window for the design and starts with the letter I have chosen. Additional and other letters in the window by selecting from the keyboard.
7. Keep on planning for some time and clicking to select the other letters are in the main window design. (The application freezes for 3-4" without being able to select anything and then crashes ...)

This problem is not there every time I use the FontForge.

I hope you gave more information.
Thanks for your time.

Greetings.

Can you please upgrade to the version in this scratch build:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2294313

and see if the problem re-occurs or is fixed?

Note that this build will only be around for a few weeks.

Thanks.

Hi Kevin.

I must ask you the following.

The packages fontforge-20090923-3.fc13 (x86_64) &
             fontforge-devel-20090923-3.fc13 (x86_64)
must be uninstalled?

And then i will install the packages
buildArch (fontforge-20100501-1.fc13.src.rpm, x86_64)?

Thanks.

Comment 8 Kevin Fenzi 2010-07-07 15:30:14 UTC
You could do it that way, but easier is to download the new rpms and do:

rpm -Uvh fontforge-20100501-1.fc13.x86_64.rpm fontforge-devel-20100501-1.fc13.x86_64.rpm

and it should upgrade the version correctly.

Comment 9 Kevin Fenzi 2010-08-24 03:03:42 UTC
Any news here? Did you get a chance to try the newer fontforge?

That scratch build is gone, but I can make another if you would like.

(I'm not the needinfo person.)

I have been unable to reproduce this by following the instructions (although number 7, "keep on planning for some time" presented some problems!).

The backtrace is clear enough: the Grid Fit Parameters dialog was pulled up, "OK" was pressed, and the subsequent rendering failed in FT_ConicTo(). I have tried normal and perverse settings in that dialog and haven't managed to crash it.

I think that this should be closed, given the length of time this has been on needinfo and no clear reproducibility.
