Description Juha Heljoranta 2010-07-03 14:01:41 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #547837 +++

Description of problem:
I plugged in my printer and got a notification that the "Hewlett-Packard LaserJet M1120 MFP printer requires a proprietary plugin, run hp-setup". However, there is a free working driver called foo2xqx (via RPM Fusion). The system should allow user to make a decision which driver to use or at least encourage user to lookup alternatives (such as RPM Fusion).

It would be nice if Fedora could check the recommended driver via OpenPrinting api:

foo2xqx is not entirely unencumbered, unfortunately (JBIG).

The RPM Fusion packages should include postscriptdriver tags. That way you will be asked whether you'd like to install them as soon as you plug in the printer.
