A friend of mine complained that empathy on f13 doesn't find his systems certificates. The problem seems to be that telepathy-gabble has this code:

 /* system certs */
  wocky_connector_add_ca (priv->connector,
      "/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt");


While the ca-certificates package installs a file called

/etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt
