Description of problem: When ident is enabled squid crashes on first access. This has been fixed upstream but the fix is not in current Fedora releases. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): v3.1.4 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In squid.conf enable ident_lookup_access allow <relevant host or hosts> 2. From a host for which ident lookups are enabled (1), cause a http get using, for example wget Actual results: The wget hangs, the squid process crashes with SIGSEGV and no log entry appears Expected results: The wget succeeds, the squid process doesn't crash and an entry appears in access.log tagged with the userid reported by ident. Additional info: This has been fixed upstream (http://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2651) and the patch applies readily to 3.1.4, so this is really a request to incorporate the patch in current Fedora releases.
