This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

One can check the sanity of /etc/samba/smb.conf using the obscurely-named utility `testparm`. Calling it from the `service smb check` (as is similarly done by postfix) would make the script more accessible and helpful.
