Description Adam Williamson 2010-07-31 15:41:09 EDT
The package needs to be rebuilt against python 2.7 in both F14 and devel.

Information on the new "dist-git" system can be seen here:
  http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Using_Fedora_GIT

Information on common difficulties with Python 2.7 rebuilds can be seen here:
  https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Python_2.7

Once it's been successfully rebuilt for F14, an update needs to be filed to get the rebuild into F14:
  https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/new/

Please add this bug to the update, to make it easy to track what's been done, and what's left to do.

Thanks!

This fails to build for reasons unrelated to Python. I think it just needs this patch from upstream:

http://git.gnome.org/browse/xchat-gnome/commit/?id=8d35b36baa8204b68c9520ec92327e34c1d7c580

I'm doing a test build with this patch included right now.

Yep, that worked. Attaching the git diff and patch file.

Adam, are you set-up to commit these in git? If so, please feel free to commit them yourself. I've no problem with your patches. If not, I'll try to commit these tomorrow. Thanks!

Brian: I'm not a proven packager, so I can't do the commits directly. There's going to be a vote on me at the upcoming FESCo meeting, if you want to show up and cheer. =)

Thanks, Dave, I'll test the build.

Adam, I'll be sure to pass along my +1 to the mailing list, with all the weight that being a former FESCo chair carries - ;-). Thanks for the patch!
