Description Fabian A. Scherschel 2010-08-03 09:38:56 UTC
Description of problem:

The iPod sync features of gPodder do not work on Fedora because python-mad is not available. See: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=247097

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

All

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Podcast -> Additional components -> iPod sync -> About
2. You get the message: Support synchronization of podcasts to Apple iPod devices via libgpod.. Missing components: Python module "mad" not installed
3. python-mad is not available on Fedora

Additional info:

Old RPMs of python-mad can be found here: http://packages.sw.be/python-mad/

Comment 1 Ville-Pekka Vainio 2010-08-03 09:54:29 UTC
The python-mad package wasn't accepted for Fedora Extras in 2006, the situation hasn't probably changed since then: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=193102

Comment 2 Fabian A. Scherschel 2010-08-03 10:02:28 UTC
Any idea why it's not in Livna?

Comment 3 Ville-Pekka Vainio 2010-08-03 10:31:26 UTC
According to their website, Livna only has one package currently. As to why it's not in RPM Fusion, I don't know, probably no one submitted the package there.

Comment 4 Fabian A. Scherschel 2010-08-03 10:37:06 UTC
I can't get it via Livna. Will investigate...
