Description of problem:
Ruby QMF console applications hang when supplied bogus hostname or port.  (Observed in wallaby-utils.)

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run some tool with wrong hostname (e.g. wallaby-dump)
  
Actual results:
wallaby tool never ends nor print any output

Expected results:
tool print error message about unavailable qmf broker
