RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Michal Nowak 2010-08-10 08:39:53 UTC
Description of problem:

Go to Help -> Help Contents -> GNU Tools:

* gcc points to version 4.3.1, while in RHEL6 is 4.4.4
* binutils points to http://sourceware.org/binutils/docs/ which is the latest binutils available (=2.20 which is what we have in RHEL6 too) but we would rather point to http://sourceware.org/binutils/docs-2.20/ so we don't point to 2.21 in the future
* pkg-config:

"""
Not Found
The requested URL /ftp/hpux/Development/Tools/pkgconfig-0.23/pkgconfig-0.23.man.html was not found on this server.
"""

Better target is http://hpux.its.tudelft.nl/ftp/hpux/Development/Tools/pkgconfig-0.25/pkgconfig-0.25.man.html but this is 0.25 version (we have 0.23). I am not aware of 0.23 documentation/man page online however you may want to ask pk-config maintainer to generate html page from /usr/share/man/man1/pkg-config.1.gz and the you can point to it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

eclipse-platform-3.5.2-5.el6.x86_64

Comment 1 Jeff Johnston 2010-12-13 22:35:12 UTC
GNU Tools documentation is supplied as part of the Autotools plug-ins which are shipped as part of eclipse-cdt. Switching the component to eclipse-cdt.

Comment 4 Jeff Johnston 2011-01-12 19:10:33 UTC
eclipse-cdt-7.0.1-2.el6 has been built which fixes this problem
