Description Chris Ball 2010-08-17 22:15:14 UTC
Description of problem:

After upgrading to F13 and the 2.6.35 release, I see:

[drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon

when starting X. The initial console modeset works, though.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Linux 2.6.35, manually compiled.

How reproducible:

Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot into runlevel 3
2. Type "X" at the console

Additional info:

dmesg and Xorg.0.log attached.

You probably want to try, which has the nouveau updates from 2.6.36 added.

Comment 4 Chuck Ebbert 2010-09-03 12:22:03 UTC
What do you really want to report this against? F14 maybe? Right now it's against rawhide, which has 2.6.36-rc3

Comment 5 Martin Kho 2010-09-25 12:16:35 UTC

I see the lockup message too, with kernel 2.6.36-0.26.rc5.git4.fc15.x86_64 and Fedora 15 (rawhide)

Comment 6 Martin Kho 2010-11-09 12:20:22 UTC

I don't see this message any more. Not sure what solved it, because I had some other nouveau issues.
