Description of problem: when connecting to our corporate exchange 2007 imap client, in fc12 I was working fine with evolution and proxy settings set in gnome proxy config. after fc14 upgrade, evolution could not connect to the imap server. In my case I had to go into the "networking" setup for evolution and set to "direct connection" In addition even with "direct" set in evolution, it was STILL using the socks proxy setting set in the gnome-proxy dialog. I had to disable the socks proxy in order to connect to imap. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): [root@jbrandeb-mobl2 ~]# rpm -qa |grep evolution evolution-perl-2.31.90-1.fc14.i686 evolution-2.31.90-1.fc14.i686 evolution-mapi-0.31.90-1.fc14.i686 evolution-data-server-2.31.90-1.fc14.i686 How reproducible: every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. set proxy settings in gnome-Network-proxy dialog, set http/ftp/ssl/socks to non-zero value 2. start evolution, configure imap server 3. set evolution to "direct connection" in the "networking" options (shouldn't there be an "ignore proxy settings" option in the server config? ala pidgin? Actual results: imap server connects to socks server, of course can't see internal-only exchange imap. Expected results: email should work. Additional info:
The whole Network Preferences page in Evolution needs to die. It's redundant and doesn't work.
Thanks for a bug report. There is filled a similar upstream bug report [1], thus I'm moving this there. Please see [1] for any further updates. [1] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=601898
